Can you believe it’s already December? This year has flown by, and we’re diving headfirst into the holiday season. What better time to spotlight an inspiring Woman in Business than now? This month, I'm thrilled to feature a dear friend, Chelsea Mullins, and her journey into the world of photography editing.
Chelsea and I go way back – we met working at a beachside sports bar in Pensacola, Florida, of what feels like a lifetime ago. As we caught up on our chat, we shared the ups and downs of long shifts and beach days, forming memories that still make us smile. Although life has since taken us to different places, we’ve stayed in touch, and today, I’m excited to showcase her growing business, Chelsea Mullins Photo Editing.
All About Chelsea
Chelsea, a Florida native now based in Clearwater, found her calling after becoming a stay-at-home mom. As her kids grew up and started school, she began to explore what her next chapter might look like. Seeking both flexibility and a creative outlet, she turned to her passion: photography. And from there, Chelsea Mullins Photo Editing was born, giving her the freedom to work from home while still being available for her family.
Chelsea’s editing style leans toward a warm, moody aesthetic—so if that’s your vibe, she’s your ideal editor! Recently, she had the chance to edit photos from a breathtaking elopement in Scotland. “I could edit those all day!” she said, captivated by the scene's beauty. Chelsea works on weddings, family sessions, and newborn photography, with wedding edits being some of her favorites. She loves watching each couple’s love story unfold through the photos.
She loves the creative outlet that photo editing provides as she prefers this side of the photography industry as it allows her to be creative but also precise. Editing may not be something that most photographers prefer, which allows for a win-win for her and the photographer!
Although she is based in Florida, the perk of her business is that she can have clients based anywhere and she can edit the photos anywhere as well. She has clients primarily within the U.S., but she also has ventured into international clients. Although wedding photography is her love, she’s learned the wedding season is just that – seasonal! Therefore, she is expanding to other countries as well such as New Zealand and Australia. How cool is that?! It’s like going on a mini vacation for each editing session.
As Chelsea navigates this new venture, she envisions over the next year to have an increase in full-time clients that she can work with on repeat. She would love to help as many photographers as she can, but spots are limited so be sure to reach out and schedule a consultation (links below)!
Inspiring Mamas, Grace, and Motivation
When asked who inspires her, Chelsea pointed to fellow moms. As a mother herself, she knows the balancing act that comes with family life and career. Many of her clients are also moms, juggling multiple roles and working hard to support their families. Chelsea’s shoutout goes to these incredible women who pour everything into their families and careers.
Her advice for aspiring entrepreneurs? Give yourself grace. “You’re not going to have all the answers right away,” she says, “and that’s okay. Take things day by day and allow yourself to grow at your own pace.” She views her clients as partners, working together to achieve their goals and build lasting relationships. Plus, it’s more enjoyable of a relationship that way and you’re forming connections for potentially long-term relationship than solely a transactional one.
On challenging days, Chelsea finds strength in her family. Her photography editing business not only gives her a sense of purpose outside of being a wife and mom but also allows her to contribute financially and give her husband a breather.
Work with Chelsea
Chelsea’s mission is to relieve photographers of the often-overwhelming task of editing. Many photographers don’t realize they can outsource this part of the process, but Chelsea is here to help. She can offer turnaround times in days rather than weeks, allowing photographers to focus on what they love most—capturing moments. With a clear, collaborative process, she ensures each photographer’s unique style shines through in every edit.
